gnightgirl: I have moved on from kuaci to sunflower seeds. It keeps me from falling asleep when burning the midnight oil. Better than a coffee-fix. Honest!( Yes kuaci is melon seeds..)
Kuaci these days aren't like what it used to be. I rememeber they were actually EASY to bite open...or is it because my teeth are getting porous? Sigh.... Another tradition to discard!
I have discovered pumpkin seeds (for my cholesterol problem). MUCH nicer.
Goodnight girl - I don't think that food colouring is toxic. It looks like cochineal to me, which is made from squashed beetles. You'd think that would be toxic, but apparently it isn't.
I had to look it up, of course. It's melon seeds, yes? I found several different versions. Seems like it's getting a bad rap from toxic food-coloring.

ReplyDeleteJimbo: sunflower seeds! sunflower seeds! gentler on the enamel
ReplyDeleteYou eat the salted ones? They curl your lips after awhile, don't they?
