Served for breakfast on day two of stay in Jakarta. I 've never heard of this. Neither had anyone else when I asked around that morning. I took a picture but didn't eat it. Lured away by lucious omelettes and delicious soya milk instead. It's only now when I look at my album that I wonder what this is. Here's what I found on google.
Nasi Rawon is a traditional East Java Beef Soup. It is served with these condiments that you see in the picture;salted egg, mint leaves, bean sprouts etc. The soup is dark in colour because of the spice used which is keluak,(Pangeum edule,) This gives the soup a nutty flavour. Pretty interesting dish.
