Banh Xeo ( Crispy Pancake)

Vietnamese noodles and rice paper rolls are something most people are familiar with and when asked about Vietnamese food these are what they would name off the top of their heads. But there is another less famous but just as interesting dish the pancake. The shop in Sg Wang Plaza serves it with paper rolls which you must dip into water to soften and then pinch a bit of pancake with lettuce ( which they serve separately ) and wrap it up into a roll yourself. Such a good idea. And let me tell you it tastes absolutely wonderful.

The only other place I've eaten Banh Xeo before was a Vietnamese restaurant at One Utama and they served it like this...no rice paper roll to dip and roll. Boring!
