Tues

Repetto, originally uploaded by andreaban2009.
My feet hurt. And these are from wearing camper twin shoes for a long day doing ward rounds. I think the leather needs to be broken in. No, I'm not terribly disappointed because my camper black shoes do look very elegant.

I am however tempted. To buy a pair of re[etto ballet flats. Since visiting the local repetto shop at Pavillion last week, my evenings have been spent googling forums and blogs on repettos. Most love them. Quite a number agree its more expensive than what they are used to.And a few gripes about the fragile sole and cheap feel to the shoe. I even watched a youtube video on the deconstruction of the repetto shoe by an Australian. Obsessed! That's what I am.

But shoe are important. Repetto Pavillion will be having their grand opening on Thursday the 12th of March 2014. They have finger-food and actual ballet dancing for entertainment. How do I know this? The sweet lady in the shop Rebecca informed and invited me to visit then to get 20% off all new shoes. ( Otherwise they're FULL price any other day)

I'm eyeing an older pair with 30% off in purple which I think will go with most things if I'm not too fussy. Decisions decisions.

Granchio

Granchio, originally uploaded by andreaban2009.
My macbook air is still mute despite all attempts and various suggested solutions from browsing forums on the net. I sent it for servicing at epicentre at Pavillion. Surprise! It's still under warranty. ( Yay!) So at least it won't cost any money just the inconvenience which I'm prepared for. I'll have to use my old macbook until then. ( Heavy! and a bit slow but I won't complain too much)

Had lunch at Capricciosa, which was the obvious choice for me because I love their pastas. It was a Friday so I had Granchio; crab meat, pasta and tomato sauce. Wooo! Very good. I'm returning soon.

* My Granchio cost RM26.90 ( bit steep but worth every bite)

Madame Kwan

Madame Kwan, originally uploaded by andreaban2009.
Finally, I mustered enough courage to get a picture not just OF Madame Kwan but WITH Madame Kwan. Taken at the Pavillion branch on a Sunday evening where we had dinner. I recognized her signature hat. And she gave us a broad smile and waved us to our seats before her staff took over.

Her full name is Kwan Swee Lian. She was born in 1933 in Kluang Johor. And studied at Kuen Cheng Girl's School in KL when her family relocated here. her son Rudy an accountant now heads the restaurant. She married a doctor who sadly died in 2007 leaving her a widow. Interestingly she started off in the facial business initially before branching out to food. And she has about 20 hats and wears them when she is out. Certainly saves on doing the hair.

happy chinese new year

happy chinese new year, originally uploaded by andreaban2009.

Its the year of the snake. Snakes are scary creatures. I cannot look at one without squirming. All magazines featuring snakes in the house re stapled firmly. To avoid accidentally seeing them and getting upset. So I'm guessing there won't be a baby boom. Unlike the year of the Dragon where everyone who could get pregnant was pressured into possibly conceiving. This picture was taken last Friday en route back from Sg Wand Plaza. A mad rush to the Chambers Music shop to get my score for "Meditation". I took in totally 40 minutes and ended up feeling rather sick the good part of Saturday as a direct result of exerting self.

Today is the first proper day back to work for most people and the traffic to work was heavier than usual. I suspect there must have been a stalled car somewhere along Loke Yew. I left work before 5:30pm and took only 30 minutes to get back. (yay). I'm guessing a few folks may have taken an extra day off to recuperate from driving back last night.  Happy Working folks. Clinic was long but I got chocolates and an ang pau from a lovely patient which made my day:)

Finally!!!

IMG_8697, originally uploaded by penelopepink1979.
I read New Idea, Hello, Woman's Day and occasionally when I'm at Nail Boutique ( doing the obvious pedicure and maciure) I read Cleo, Her World etc.

Now you may not know this, but I've been drawn to Jo Malone's scented candles as it's nearly always featured in Hello magazine in the pages towards the end after the recipes ( which I do read despite not cooking these days)

So finally Jo Malone has arrived in Malaysia. Their store is at Pavillion where the Tangs used to be. WHoooopeee. I found it on Sunday and the girl ( Shikin I think her name was ) was friendly and helpful and I layered many perfumes to test and got very excited with the different smells.

I want!
