Family ties

I envy big families. And the big family reunions I see either on blogs ( not so common) or on Facebook. This year, thanks to my second cousin (LK )on my dad's side, we had our own family reunion.

We had good food ( see picture as proof) and good company. Some were meeting for the first time but have heard of each other before through my late grandmother. We also FaceTime my other aunt in Singapore who insisted she wanted to see us all too. I think one of the good things coming out of Facebook is getting people to be in touch. Seeing posts and updates and pictures are important. When we did meet up, we just got on with the talking with no fuss.

The lure of facebook

Picture from SweetToothFairy

There is surely a cure for the addiction to facebook. I guess the best way is to replace it with another; twitter I hear you say? *shake head* I would if I understood the concept. My understanding is, it's a public platform where you type your thoughts ( or anything you fancy), there's a word limit I forget the number...and you sit back and wait for a zillion comments to come tumbling in. So tell me, what is the attraction?

Friend or foe

I can't believe I let the entire week go pass without posting. I was going to post about how tired I got during the week...but I came across this cartoon. Almost everyone at work is on facebook. Which means, they have access to your gripes if you're not too careful about the privacy clause. So your moaning about work ....should be done politely. Lest the boss finds out. Any gossip is best left out of facebook. Whatever you write, be prepared for it to be common knowledge ..it is after all a public domain. Private thoughts should be kept strictly private ...between you and you non-facebook linked friends:)

Facebook

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com

Cartoon by Dave Walker. Find more cartoons you can freely re-use on your blog at We Blog Cartoons.

I can't decide whether I like ...I mean really like facebook. It's certainly more interactive than blogging. Over here, you wait in anticipation for some comments. And this may take a while. In FB world, you get quick replies to just about anything you post.

Status update ( FB style ) Edina is .....( taking a break from facebook )
