Where is the umbrella when you need one

Taken from physicsworld

It rained this evening. One of those slow drizzle which crescendos into a bigger rain intermittently. I had a hair trim and parked the car in a open space only to realize I have no umbrella in the car. And so I arrived at the hairdressers with big spots of rain drop marks on my baju. I weaved in and out of the rain but it was determined to get the better of me. And after the hair trim…it continued raining.

I shouldn't complain. I believe the rain in KL has reached its peak a few weeks back. I hope the flash floods are a thing of the past. The school holidays has also helped the traffic. Despite the rain this evening, the traffic moved at a decent pace and I got through town in a decent time.

Finally.....the heat eases off

It has been bloody hot the last couple of weeks. Moving fast makes me sweat and at the end of the day when I arrive home, I feel like I've had a little jog around the condominium carpark rather than returning from work. So, I'm very pleased the temperature seems to have sorted itself out a bit this evening. I'm feeling nice and cool for once. And am wearing proper jammies ..and not a bead of sweat in sight.

Cheng Beng

This is my dad, doing his bit in burning some money. ( Symbolic of course ...what you burn will reach the "other" side.) He used the wrong spot to burn....ie Grandmother's spot..anything burned in this will reach her. And as she's catholic...my mother was quick to quipt " Amah doesn't need money, she's catholic".( The visit was to honour my Buddhist Grandfather..who died when I was five years old.)
Cheng Beng is the chineses' All Souls Day. It usually falls on the 104th day following the winter solstice, around the 5th of April. Chinese families honor their ancestors by visiting the graves , clearing it up and repairing any broken bits. Having one grandparent Buddhist and the other Catholic means doing these separately. We brought with us , 2 umbrellas ( because it always rains when we're there ), jossticks, a cigrarette lighter,( although nobody smokes this is much handier than a match), some food and wads of cash. ( fake ones.)
