Daniel ate here.

Yee Sang

I recently had a delightful yee sang . Okay so it was this evening. I envision the meal to be pleasing and how right I was. The salmon was delightful. As I was chewing my way through this I pondered on 2006. A tad early to be melancholic but I do so like doing this pondering. No complains so far thanks very much. 2006 is shaping up to be a decent year.

Heliotrope leaves.

Like many of my discredited generation, I am insanely interested in shopping and know little about gardens except maybe that watering plants with warm water isn't a good idea.
I thought I'd better take a break from entries re food lest you think I'm in some way fixated with food and live solely for the purpose of savoring goodies.
Looks beautiful, tastes divine

A breath of fresh air, to blow away the cobwebs of 2005.

Light touch!

Its a wonderful lfe!

I have a strange and mildly diseased mind. So bear with me as I take you through a tour of the garden as seen by my camera. First let's start by commenting on the weather this morning ( totally unrelated to the subject of this post btw ) it's a wet rainy saturday morning. The temperature must be 24 degrees and the humidity is still at its tolerable state. The burr of the washing machine reminds me I have the laundry to hang out in about 20 minutes. There's the floor to clean before I head out. But in the meantime,I have decided to wander about aimlessly here.( Blame it on the weather and let's be

I have no names for the plants in the pictures. I hope my mother will forgive me this lack of knowledge.
From the end of the garden, we proceed in my usual haphazard manner to just about any part of the garden which tickles my fancy. Mum is rather found of gnomes. We've given her a few over the years. Note the rocks below the pot, collected from various parts of the town. Here is a wild exotic world, peopled by exciting plants ov various shapes and smell, a stark contrast to my own apartment, where there is no other living creature based in it. ( apart from self...and the pc if you consider it a living, breathing item )

Bougainvillea is a woody plant with thorns very common in most gardens. The hybrid ones are more interesting. This here is a lovely pink variety which when it flowers is absolutely gorgeous. What else is there in the garden you ask....LOADS more. But I need to brave the wet wet outdoor and get some chores done. More pictures to follow....later today...

Green is soothing

I took a walk in the garden when I was last back home and realised, plants have a calming effect. You're so busy trying to figure out the names you forget what your worries are. It's possibly equivalent to prozac. Ye-e-s!

A brush with the law!

I went to court this morning. Gosh! It sounds right down glamorous when said with the right intonation of voice plus a modicum of pride in voice, If said in a downcasted woebegone tone, one would think evil black thoughts. What does one wear? Slutty outfits are definite no nos.Frou four tops so fashionable these days are best avoided at all cost.( ZARA has a lovely white winter coat...wear it and you can make-believe you're the ice-queen in Narnia ) I woke up in a conservative state of mind and wore the baju kurung.
The grass is always greener on the other side. Seeing the chic yuppy lawyers buzzing about in crisp white shirts and black skirts or trousers made me yearn to be one. I would look SO cool in that outfit. I can just picture self now. Hmmm....

The simple life?
Back to work...boohooo!

The book to the right is a new purchase. Initial plan was to buy Cecelia Ahern's new novel. In the spirit of the new year, a little deviation from what is considered the norm proved too tempting to ignore. And so, I now own this book and the first three pages have already made me laugh which means....it's going to be a GREAT book.
More than midway through False Impression...the pace is fast..Can't wait for Krantz to get what she deserves.I'm attempting to savour every page ie rereading paragraphs to make it last that bit longer. It's a force of habit. I'm sure I'm not the only nut doing this in the world
Happy new year 2006 to everyone I know...in the real world and in the blogger world. My new year's resolution is a simple do-able one. ( and it's a secret...surely you didn't think I'ld be crazy enough to blog it.)

Letterbox invaders

We haven't named them. As a rule, nobody in the family cares very much for cats. They litter in the garden, they steal food from the back kitchen..and they meow in an irritating way when they want something. Having said that, I think the kittens will make their home with us for the time being.
