Sambal Belacan

This condiment ensures a yummy meal.
Here's the recipe
1 cawan cili padi
1/4 cawan gula
1/4 cawan garam
1 sudu besar belacan
1 biji tomato
1/2 biji bawang besar
1/2 biji lemon diambil airnya
sedikit air masak
Bakar belacan sehingga garing
Masuk bawang merah
Microwave
Kemudian kisar semua bahan
Siap untuk dihidang.
So maybe this recipe isn't quite write. But the picture looked lonely without some words.

Aaaargh!!

After nearly one year, I have admitted defeat. The sling bag used daily has got to be put to rest. This picture was taken in 2006. It may look simple but the three compartments meant I could put my purse, bunch of car keys, pocket pc and ixus camera in without much problem. Okay so occasionally if the arrangement was wrong..it meant squishing the things in. The trick is to be really organized about it. I miss my ole bag. What am i using now...a new bag of course. It's blue with prints on it. The blue makes it harder to match but who cares....

Obesity on the rise

This is a hotch-potch of food eaten in one setting during one of the many free drug-talk sponsored buffet dinners. Is it any wonder we're not all obese?

Harry potter and the price war in Malaysia

Due to the korean-bug...I decided to stay home the entire morning on Saturday in my jim jams. Was obsessed with finishing the drama series that I decided to leave buying Harry Potter to mid week. I don't read the papers. ( Am shallow that way...) So I was totally oblivious to the price war happening in Malaysia. I did find it odd, when I went to TIMES bookstore in Plaza Damas and found not a single Harry Potter book in sight. The cashier was wearing a harry potter T-shirt. I assumed ( naively ) that the books had been sold out.
It wasn't until a good friend called...to ask whether I knew what the hype was..and offered ( bless her soul ) to buy it for me from TESCO.
MPH, TIMES, POPULAR and HARRIS have decided not to sell the book. Carrefor and Tesco have undercut the market prize selling the deathly hallows at 69.90 instead of 109.90 ringgit. Read it here!

Pari-ui Yeon-In

"Lovers in Paris. " I spent the ENTIRE weekend glued to the tv watching this Korean drama series. Unlike other korean drama series where the girl meets boy and ends up being accepted by the parents eventually, this series had an interesting ending.

How not to park your car

Hands up how many of you find it difficult to get parking spots at work!!! There seems to be a trend these days....( nasty habit ) of parking and boxing people in. It's like a puzzle you play. Here you have three cars parked in a row...obstructing your car...moving one wouldn't do. You have to move all three. Unless you have super human powers ( I don't ) you end up pushing all three cars one at a time. Imagine doing this in the rain...and then you'll understand why a certain someone parked this way one morning. Less complications for a pain-free getaway. Well done!!

I need to eat less.

I wonder how good the atkins diet is. I read somewhere, ( I forget where now ) that the high protein content makes you fart away periodically. Making mingling with normal folks socially impossible.

Lanson Place. No 1 Jalan Ampang Hilir

Last weekend, we were obliged to spend it together at Lanson Place along Jalan Ampang. It was the department's "Sanggar Kerja". Until today, I haven't gotten a satisfying translation for the word Sanggar. It certainly doesn't mean Sangkar just in case you're wondering.

Jalan Ampang is amazingly narrow for such a thoroughfare serving to link Ampang and the rest of KL....it's no wonder there's always a jam along it. I arrived a good hour later than expected but thankfully was not missed. Which just goes to show how important I am:(

This weekend...I am spending at HOME.

Wires are nasty things..

The desktop has been acting up for at least 3 months. And I have been procrastinating my trip to the pc doctor ( ie the man in sg wang plaza who sold me the pc ) forever. But today, I was determined to get things sorted. The last time I unplugged the wires, I had a jolly hour trying different permutations before the monitor worked. So today ( smug look ) I got smart and took pictures step by step.
For the record, the monitor didn't come on until a good half an hour later. ( And with a bit of swearing under my breath to get things going ). I think this desktop wants me to be miserable. Why else would it act up every few months?

tagged AGAIN

The Aunt tagged me.......

1. Each player must post these rules first.2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.Eight random facts and habits of self.

( Pssst I'm gonna do all the above except tag 8 people...cos I dun have 8 friends on the net who blog....I only have 4.)

Fact one: I am exactly 5 feet tall in my stockinged feet, which makes calculating my BMI tedious...cos I always have to lose a few kilos secretly before I'm happy with the result.

Habit: I cut my toe nails rarely. I much prefer someone else doing it for me. Pedicures were made for people like me....who can't quite bend down to get the job down. Last week, my attempt at toenail cutting nearly blinded me. One nail flew directly into my left eye and I daren't wink lest I cause a cornea abrasion. ( I still have good sight and am not legally blind as yet )

Fact two: I come from a small town called "Raub" which is / WAS a gold mining town. The term raub means to scoop with your hand. Presumably them miners did a lot of scooping back in the good old days. Today...not much of the gold is left. And for the record my dad isn't a gold miner so we pretty much still have to work for a decent living. Pity!!

Habit: I buy HELLO magazine every week without fail. Probably stems from the days where Hello was much cheaper. With the rate the ringgit is dropping..I might just have to give up this habit soon. OUCH!

Fact three: I hate snakes. Absolutely hate them in all forms. Magazines with pictures depicting snakes would have to be stapled at the very first opportunity to avoid accidentally turning the page and getting into a flap. Toy snakes should be banned.

Habit: I like digging my ears. One of the surgeons once told us..never to put anything bigger than your elbow into your ear. I didn't quite care much for his lectures. Anyway, it can't have brought much harm cos I have perfect hearing.

Fact four: I like taking pictures and my camera and i are seldom parted. When I was younger I used to hate posing for pictures for my dad. He used to snap pictures at every opportunity. And to my horror I have become exactly like him. The apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. the slight ( but important ) difference between us is, my dad is obsessed with different lenses and gagdets. I have neither the inclination nor the monetary reserve to go down that path.

Habit : I wear my watch all the time. No really!! I mean 24 hours of the day. My friends find it weird. So it'll be real nice if someone out there reading this....leaves a comment just so I know I'm normal.

I haven't eight friends to tag. SO I'll just tag Jimbo ( as punishment for putting a picture of a snake on his blog...AAAArgh!!!)

Flower pot!!
