The pearl of the orient...

If you have plans to laze about the beach in Penang, allow me this, to put you straight. The beach I was at was not nice for a few reasons. I had this idea of walking along the beach uninterrupted with the wind in my hair and a natural pedicure as my toes squish through the sand. When I reached the beach ( with the camera around my neck) I was greeted with a few voices spoken loudly and in a taunting manner. The voices well, one in particular anyway, told me not to waste my time taking pictures. It went on for a bit. But I walked on. Shortly after, I noticed a man walking alongside me and within 4 strides broached the subject of a horse ride...another chipped in re para-gliding. And when they were politely told to buzz off, a lady took off where they left by inquiring re my need for a massage by the beach. So you can see, I was hardly allowed to enjoy the beach that evening.

The need to make money out of tourists. Nothing wrong there. Except the pushiness which was not nice:(
