Having learnt from last year's ghastly experience of being forced to play the exam pieces on strings badly in need to a change, I had my strings changed on the violin this evening. Dominant Strings. And let's hope they last a bit longer this time. The annoying thing about changing strings is this: tuning takes so much longer than usual it makes the actual practising tedious. The pegs kept slipping, the moment I got the E string tuned...the G decides to be a little bit off. A "peg dope" seems very appealing, but I'm not sure whether it's sold locally. Tips off the net : rub pencil graphite. I'll do that tomorrow.
